Northern Marianas College School of Business students recently achieved remarkable success in the Capsim 2.0 global business simulation program. The NMC students placed in the top 10 percentile among 6,658 participants from around the world.

The Capsim 2.0 program is a business simulation designed to provide students with hands-on experience in corporate decision-making, problem-solving, financial management, and other essential business skills.

A team of four NMC students, comprising Edilberto Javier III, Marineth Cardinio, Halia Taisacan, and Mary (Ahby) Fronda, achieved a top 10 percentile ranking among 6,879 teams worldwide. This performance included competing against teams from prestigious universities such as Purdue, SUNY Polytechnical, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and California State University - East Bay.

“For graduating Bachelor seniors at the School of Business, the integration of Capstone 2.0 from Capsim Management Simulations into the MG440 curriculum marks a pivotal advancement in experiential learning. This innovative simulation, now in its second semester, puts students at the helm of strategic decision-making within a business context that prioritizes sustainability – a critical aspect of modern entrepreneurship and management," said NMC School of Business Interim Director Dr. Barbara C. Hunter.

"Their success underscores the effectiveness of Capstone 2.0 in honing students' business acumen and decision-making prowess. This innovative simulation equips students with the tools they need to succeed in today's dynamic and sustainable business landscape," said Will Curnutt, Manager of Client Relationship Services, Capsim Management Simulations.

The NMC School of Business has been utilizing the Capsim Simulation since 2015 to provide students with a real-world, hands-on learning experience. The integration of the Capsim 2.0 platform into the MG440 curriculum marks a significant advancement in the school's experiential learning approach.
