The Northern Marianas College Board of Regents has renewed Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero’s contract as NMC president for another four years. Board chair Charles V. Cepeda announced the renewal of Deleon Guerrero’s contract in a news briefing yesterday morning at the college’s conference room.

As of 5:00 pm today, Governor Arnold Palacios had cancelled typhoon conditions for Rota and issued the “All Clear” for Tinian and Saipan. (Please refer to the attached advisory for more information.) With that announcement, NMC’s Rota site will remain closed as we assess the damage to its facilities and ensure it is safe for employees, students, and the community to access before reopening. Also note that NMC’s Tinian and Saipan sites will reopen tomorrow, Friday, May 26, and all employees at these sites are expected to report to work

As of 5:00 am today, Governor Arnold I. Palacios had maintained Typhoon Condition I for the island of Rota and Tropical Storm Condition I for the islands of Saipan and Tinian. With that, College facilities on all islands will remain closed until further notice. Please see the attached bulletin for more information.

As of 5:00 am today, Governor Arnold I. Palacios had maintained Typhoon Condition II for the island of Rota and Tropical Storm Condition II for the islands of Saipan and Tinian. With that, College facilities on all islands will remain closed until further notice. Please see the attached bulletin for more information.

At 1:00 pm today, Governor Arnold I. Palacios declared Typhoon Condition II for the island of Rota and Tropical Storm Condition II for the islands of Saipan and Tinian. Now that Condition II has been announced for these respective islands, the College will be closed until further notice. Please see the attached advisory for more information.

As of 5:00 am this morning, Governor Arnold I. Palacios had maintained Typhoon Condition III for the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. As a precaution, should Condition II be declared later today, and with many College offices and workspaces already secured in a manner that may make it difficult to work on site, College supervisors are authorized, at their discretion, to allow employees in their respective programs and offices to telework today.
