NMC Offers Courses to Improve PRAXIS II Score (October 21, 2010)

The Northern Marianas College’s Community Development Institute, a program under the Division of Community Programs and Services, is offering two short-term courses to individuals preparing to take the PRAXIS II examination. The courses are offered as part of the College’s mission to provide a variety of continuing education and professional development opportunities needed to support the community.

These courses will help participants enhance their knowledge of subjects that kindergarten through 12th grade educators will teach, and improve their general and subject-specific teaching skills. Both courses are open to all elementary school teachers in public and private schools.

The first session review will cover Elementary Education: Content Knowledge on the subjects of Literature & Language Arts, History and Social Studies, and Sciences. The second session review will cover Elementary Education: Content Knowledge on the subject of Mathematics.

PRAXIS II Review: Literature & Arts, History and Social Studies, and Sciences Dates: October 30, 2010 - November 6, 2010 (Saturdays)

Fee: $60.00 (Course materials included)

All interested individuals should register at least seven days before the first day of class. Full payment is required for admission into a class. Certificates of completion are awarded upon request by students who complete all course requirements.
