Country House/Moby Dick Donate $1,000 to NMC Foundation (April 28, 2010)

In an effort to help raise funds for the advancement of educational opportunities and resources in the CNMI, Nippon General Trading (NGT) Corporation, dba Country House Restaurant and Restaurant Moby Dick, recently donated $1,000 to the NMC Foundation.

“We are very proud to be supporting the NMC Foundation and all its efforts to provide for the students of NMC,” said NGT Corp. President Masanobu Sago.

The donation was presented in support of the recently-held 8th Annual NMC Foundation Golf Open, which is organized by the NMC Foundation. The tournament, the organization’s signature event, aimed to raise critical funds to support NMC’s academic programs and services.

“We are thankful for Country House Restaurant’s donation,” said NMC Foundation President Ben Babauta. “With their donation, we were able to raise a considerable sum to support instructional programs and services at the College.”

The NMC Foundation is a non-profit organization whose goal is to raise funds to support the Northern Marianas College, the CNMI’s lone post-secondary educational institution. The organization is composed of individuals who are dedicated and committed to ensuring that CNMI students receive the utmost support in pursuing their educational goals.

The golf tournament was held this past Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Saipan Lao Lao Bay Golf & Resort in Kagman. Close to 150 golfers met on the links and competed for over $100,000 in prizes.
