NMC Features its First Health Awareness Fair (March 1, 2010)

The Northern Marianas College is inviting the public to its first Health Awareness Fair at the NMC As Terlaje campus.

The fair was co-sponsored by Bridge Capital, LLC and organized by the Northern Marianas College Nursing Club, the Division of Public Health, NMC CREES, College Access Challenge Project, the Associated Students of NMC (ASNMC) and the Office of Student Activities and Leadership at NMC.

The fair will feature many useful resources that aim to elevate health awareness and best practices. Some of these feature free blood pressure and blood sugar checkups, body mass index checkups, cholesterol testing, free H1N1 & flu shots, family planning and counseling, breast and cervical screening, and a booth for the Women, Infant and Children’s (WIC) program.

Among other health care-related activities and informational booths, the Health Awareness Fair will feature fun activities and entertainment such as the Northern Marianas College Battle of the PROAs competition.

The fair will be held on March 6, 2010 at the NMC Field from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. There is no fee to attend the fair.
