NMC to Present Performance Report, Seeks Input on Community’s Educational Needs (September 17, 2009)

Northern Marianas College President Dr. Carmen Fernandez will be presenting the College’s annual performance report to the College community and the general public on Friday, September 25, 2009, at 11a.m. Members of the general public are invited to attend.

The report is being presented in accordance with 3 CMC 1316(q), which requires the College to provide a hearing “for the purpose of making the College’s work known and investigating and assessing the needs and role of the College in the Commonwealth.”

As part of the hearing, students, NMC employees, and community members are asked to submit written comments that identify existing and future educational needs and recommendations with regard to how the College can meet such needs. These submissions will be reviewed and considered during the College’s Strategic Planning Summit in November 2009. Written comments will be accepted at the Office of the NMC President up until October 9, 2009.

Immediately after President Fernandez’s presentation of NMC’s performance report, the College will be hosting an accreditation celebration event where lunch will be served and entertainment from various student groups will be featured.

The performance report and the accreditation celebration will both be held at NMC’s South Field (where the Charter Day event is usually held) next to the NMC Gym.
