Health Fair Career Day Tomorrow (June 19, 2008)

In an effort to raise awareness about medical and health professions in the CNMI, the Northern Marianas College’s Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is sponsoring a free Health Fair Career Day tomorrow, June 21, 2008.

The Career Day aims to familiarize high school students and other participants with the various medical and health professions and career opportunities in the CNMI. It also affords participants the chance to learn from testimonials of people who have been and are currently in fields of medicine and health.

Presenters at the fair include Patricia Coleman (NMC CREES), Pas Calvo (NMC Nursing Department), Ed Sablan (AHEC graduate), Pam Carhill (physical therapist), Dr. Alberto Ventura (CHC Dental Clinic), and Claudine K. Atalig (PHI Pharmacy). Additionally, the NMC Financial Aid Office, NMC CREES, NMC Admissions & Records Office, and the CNMI Scholarship Office will be hosting information booths for those interested in learning about educational and financial aid opportunities.

The fair is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Napu Room at the Pacific Island Club and will run from 8 am to 5 pm. Contact David Apatang for reservations at 234-5498 ext. 1010 or 1019 or at [email protected]
