Improve Your Korean Language Skills at NMC (August 6, 2009)

The Northern Marianas College, through the Division of Community Programs and Services’ (COMPASS) Community Development Institute (CDI), is offering short-term classes to interested individuals who wish to improve their Korean language skills. The courses are offered as part of the College’s mission to provide customized, continuing educational and professional development opportunities in response to community needs.

This is an intermediate conversational course designed to reinforce the fundamentals of the Korean language. This proficiency based foreign language course also focuses on developing listening, comprehension, vocabulary, and expressions to be able to communicate in Korean.

Additionally, the classes, which are designed to improve individual knowledge and specific skills, are geared around actual workforce needs and experiences based on course surveys, community needs assessments, and interviews with employers. The course schedule and fees are listed below.

The Intermediate Korean Language Development Course will begin on August 18 and end on September 11, 2009. The course will be taught by Daniel Huh and will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays at the NMC As Terlaje campus. The course fee is $55.

All interested individuals should register before the start of the first day of class. Certificates of competence will be awarded to registered students who complete all course requirements. Full payment is required for admission to the course.
