Health Fair Career Day This Saturday (June 18, 2009)

In an effort to raise awareness about medical and health professions in the CNMI, the Northern Marianas College’s Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is sponsoring a Health Career Fair this Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Pacific Islands Club that will run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Fair aims to familiarize high school students and other participants with the various medical and health professions and career opportunities in the CNMI. It also affords participants the chance to learn from and interact with people who have been and are currently in fields of medicine and health.

Presenters at the fair include Claudine Atalig (PHI Pharmacy), Melena Slaven, (NMC Rehabilitation & Human Services Program), Hee Jae Lee (PSS Food & Nutrition), Patricia Coleman (NMC-CREES), Miles Rodriguez (NMC Nursing Student), Justin Mariano (Mariano Chiropractic Clinic), Alan Elder and Clinton Ngiraked (Department of Fire Safety), Lori Serna (Seventh Day Adventist Clinic), Pamela Carhill (Commonwealth Health Center), and Gregoria Fitial (Marianas Health Services). Additionally, various departments and institutions will host information booths for those interested in learning about educational and financial aid opportunities.

The Fair is free and open to the public. High school juniors and seniors are highly encouraged to attend. For reservations and/or additional information, contact Les Ogumoro-Uludong at 234-5498 ext. 1010/1014 or at [email protected].
