Over $80K in Possible Prizes at this Saturday’s NMC Foundation Golf Tournament (April 26, 2011)

There will be more than $80K in possible prizes up for grabs at this Saturday’s golf tournament hosted by the Northern Marianas College Foundation Open. The prizes include airfare tickets, hole-in-one prizes that include a brand new 2011 Hyundai Tucson GL, raffle prizes, and cash awards.

The tournament is scheduled for this Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Saipan Laolao Bay Golf & Resort (West Course).

The first place winner for each flight will receive $500 and a round trip airfare ticket to anywhere Continental flies in Asia and Micronesia. The second place winner will receive $300 and the players placing third in each category will receive $200. There are six flight categories: Men’s Championship, A, B, C, ladies and seniors.

In addition to the flight prizes, there are hole-in-one prizes for the lucky golfer who makes the shot. For Hole No.13 the prize is $25,000 sponsored by AON Insurance. For Hole No.17 the prize is a 2011 Hyundai Tucson GL sponsored by Triple J Motors.

There will also be raffle-drawing prizes such as $2,500 in products and services from Docomo, a package at the Hyatt that includes one night stay, dinner and lunch, a round trip ticket donated by Continental and much more.

The 9th Annual Foundation Open golf tournament is organized by the NMC Foundation, a non-profit organization composed of community volunteers committed to elevating higher educational opportunities for CNMI students. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to support NMC’s educational programs and services.

The NMC Foundation is encouraging all golfers to come and play for a good cause.

“The NMC Foundation Open promises to be an exciting and fun tournament, and I encourage all golfers to come out andplay for a great cause,” said Ben Babauta, NMC Foundation President.

The tournament has a show time of 6:00am and a shotgun start at 7:00am and will follow a medal play format.

Registration is still ongoing and anyone interested in playing can download a registration form at or call 234-5498 extension 1050. Forms are also available at the NMC Cashier’s Office, Saipan Laolao Bay Golf & Resort, or Triple J Motors. The fee is $95 per person.
