McDonald’s donates $5,000 to NMC Foundation (April 13, 2011)

To aid in the advancement of educational programs and services at the Northern Marianas College, McDonald’s recently donated $5,000 to the Northern Marianas College Foundation.

The donation was presented in support of the upcoming 9th Annual Foundation Open golf tournament, organized by the NMC Foundation.

“McDonald’s has been supporting schools every year,” said Mr. Joe Ayuyu owner of McDonald’s Saipan, adding, “This is our continuing effort to help the schools throughout the CNMI.”

The NMC Foundation is a non-profit organization composed of community volunteers committed to elevating higher education opportunities for CNMI students. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to support NMC’s educational programs and services.

“The NMC Foundation would like to thank McDonald’s for its donation and for its show of commitment to raising funds for higher education,” said Ben Babauta, president of NMC Foundation.

The 9th Annual Foundation Open golf tournament will be hosted at the Saipan Laolao Bay Golf & Resort on Saturday April 30, 2011, with a shotgun start at 7:00 a.m. and will follow a medal play format.

There will be six separate flight categories: Champions, A, B, C, seniors, and ladies. In addition to first, second and third place prizes for the flights, the event will include hole-in-one prizes. The entrance fee is $95 per player.
