Northern Marianas College’s staff senate recently recognized three hard-working staff members for their dedication and commitment to NMC.

The three individuals, who are all from the College’s finance office, are Accountant Christina Cruz, Accounting Technician Nate Seng, and Funds Certification Officer/Travel Accountant Odin Garces. Each of them will receive a monetary prize and a reserved parking slot for the quarter.

“In the spirit of boosting morale, the Staff Senate decided to launch the Staff of the Quarter where employees nominate and select colleagues for this special honor,” NMC Staff Senate President Geri Rodgers said.  “I have the great privilege of working alongside Christina, Odin, and Nate.  They are confident in their work, genuinely friendly, and help all of us work together to accomplish the mission of the college everyday.  Congratulations to our first quarter recipients.”

Cruz, Seng, and Garces were recognized last Thursday during an event held for NMC employees.

“I am blessed and thankful that my fellow colleagues voted for me to receive the Staff of the Quarter award,” Cruz said. “I believe that we all are deserving of such an award because we all work hard in our areas. I’m looking forward to more recognition for other Staff members in the upcoming quarters.”

Seng said that he is honored to receive the distinction.

"I would like to thank the Staff Senate Senators for coordinating such a great event for our staff and would like to extend my gratitude to all the staff that voted,” Seng said. “I am very humbled and grateful to be working with so many amazing staff members that are just as deserving of this honor. Much love to my Proa family.”

Garces also shared the same sentiments.

“I am honored to receive this recognition, and I would like to dedicate this award to all my fellow staff for their hard work and dedication to NMC,” Garces said.

NMC Interim President Frankie Eliptico said that he is proud of Cruz, Seng, and Garces.

““Congratulations to Nate, Christina, and Odin for being awarded as staff members of the quarter,” Eliptico said. “All of them are hard-working employees and continue to do so much for our institution.”
