Continental Donates Roundtrip Tickets to NMC Foundation for Saturday’s Golf Tournament (June 9, 2009)

In addition to cash and other in-kind prizes, first place winners of this Saturday’s golf tournament hosted by the NMC Foundation will also win roundtrip airfare tickets to Cairns, Manila, or Palau.

The plane tickets have been donated by Continental Airlines in support of the 7th Annual Foundation Open golf tournament, which will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009. The tournament aims to raise critical funds to advance post-secondary educational opportunities for CNMI students.

The tournament is set to be a one-day event to take place at the West Course of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort. Show time is 6:00am with a shotgun start at 7:00am sharp.

“I encourage all golfers to come out on Saturday to play for a very worthy cause,” said NMC Foundation President Ben Babauta. “We’re targeting 120 golfers, which will make for a great field in one of the finest tournaments of the season.”

“To assist in achieving this, the entrance fees have been set a very reasonable $85 for registrants,” Babauta added.

In addition to the roundtrip tickets to Manila, Palau, and Cairns, there are cash prizes for the top winners of the six flights: $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $200 for third place. Hole-in-one prizes include $25,000 cash and a 2010 Mazda 3. In all, there’s more than $80,000 worth of possible prizes.

To register to play, stop by Triple J Motors , the Laolao Bay Golf Course, or the NMC Cashier’s Office to complete a registration form and pay the $85 entrance fee. Registration forms can also be found on www.nmcnet.edu.
