Financial Aid Workshop on Friday (August 7, 2019)

Northern Marianas College is inviting those looking for financial aid to attend the FAFSA Workshop scheduled for Friday, August 9, 2019. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is the form used for applying to the federal financial aid program.

Team members from NMC’s Financial Aid Office will help workshop participants fill the online application form and also answer questions about the financial aid program. The workshop will consist of three sessions at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m., at NMC’s computer lab in Building V in room V108.

Space is limited for the workshop, so those interested in attending are asked to reserve a spot in one of the three sessions by e-mailing Financial Aid Director Daisy Propst at [email protected] or by calling the Financial Aid Office at (670) 237-6791, 6793, or 6794.

Parents and students who are attending the FAFSA workshop should know their social security number, and bring copies of their 2017 income tax returns and their 2017 W-2 (if not filing) to the workshop.

Those who fill out the FAFSA may be able to qualify for the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Financial Aid program. The Federal Financial Aid program is the largest financial aid provider in the U.S. through its various types of grants, loans, and scholarships.

In addition to the FAFSA workshop, Northern Marianas College will also be hosting a free info session from 5:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the NMC Olympio T. Borja Library at the College’s As Terlaje Campus.

Topics that will be discussed at the info session include the admission process, the different degree programs offered at the College, and other college initiatives. Student service representatives from financial aid, counseling, and admissions offices will be at the info session to answer questions.

Those who attend will also qualify to receive a waiver of NMC’s admission application fee and placement test fees. The waiver represents a savings of up to $75.

More information about the information session and/or applying to NMC can be found by contacting the Office of Admissions and Records at (670) 237-6770, emailing [email protected] or visiting www.marianas.edu.
