Marianas Variety: CHCC hosts summer interns. (June 20, 2019)

THE Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. is hosting six interns this summer, CHCC communications specialist Zoe Travis said.

The internship program, which started this month, runs through August.

The interns are Sasha Tilles, Drew Wodecki, Efren Sablan Nicholas, John Mithnoy, Emman Parian and David Phan.

Sasha Tilles and Drew Wodecki are working on their master’s degree in public health.

Tilles has been assigned to the Maternal and Child Health Bureau and is conducting a research project on contraceptive use in the CNMI.

Wodecki is analyzing Medicaid data and cost-saving measures with the Division of Public Health Services and the information technology department.

Efren Sablan Nicholas, chairman of the Developmental Disabilities Council, is working with the programming team at the IT department.

Northern Marianas College student John Mithnoy has also been assigned to the IT department and the corporate quality and performance management office.

Emman Parian, a student from Pacific University in Oregon, works at the corporate quality and performance management office, and is helping implement a self-management program under the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials’ Hypertension and Control Identification Project.

NMC student David Phan is working with the communications department on social media strategies.

CHCC Chief Executive Officer Muna said the healthcare corporation helps talented individuals expand their knowledge and experience in healthcare.

“We are happy to provide the opportunity to those who have great potential in their future careers as health leaders,” she added.
