Senate confirms Tudela as NMC regent (April 30, 2018)

THE Senate on Friday confirmed the appointment of Jesus 'Jesse' Tudela as member of the Northern Marianas College board of regents.

Tudela is currently director for the division of services at the Commonwealth Health Center.

He said he is grateful for his nomination and confirmation as NMC regent.

'I am also thankful for their trust and confidence in me,' he added, referring to the administration and the Senate. 'I will look into all issues that affect NMC and will do my due diligence.'

Sen. Frank Cruz asked Tudela to ensure that NMC and the Northern Marianas Trades Institute work together.

'I will look into that,' Tudela said. 'NMTI is a private entity and NMC is a public entity so they are two very different entities, but I will try to ensure that there's communication between these two entities.'

The Senate on Friday also confirmed the appointment of Benjamin Borja of Tinian as member of the Commonwealth Public Utilities Commission, but he could not attend the session.
