The Northern Marianas College’s Cooperative Research, Extension, and
Education Service is reminding all NMC students that the deadline to apply
for the Child Health Assessment in the Pacific Undergraduate Summer
Fellowship Program is on Feb. 15, 2017.
The program provides a summer training opportunity for undergraduate
students working toward degrees in nutrition, nursing, early childhood
education, public health and other related degrees.
The objective of the CHAP program is to build Pacific regional capacity in
early childhood nutrition and health assessment training and sustain the
Pacific network of individuals working to monitor and prevent early
childhood obesity and health disparities and evaluate a program that will
sustain training in early childhood nutrition and health assessment.
Students that get accepted into the program will be awarded with a $2,100
stipend. All travel, meal, and housing expenses for a seve-day training
opportunity at the University of Hawaii at M?noa will be covered through
the fellowship. The resources and support to complete a mentored summer
field experience related to diet or anthropometry field assessment
techniques will also be provided to CHAP.
