NMC Announces Revised Semester Dates (August 12, 2015)

As the Northern Marianas College moves forward with recovery efforts on its Saipan campus, the safety and comfort of students and employees continue to remain the highest priority. The College has announced that it has modified the dates for its 2015 Summer and Fall semesters.

Summer 2015

The College’s Summer 2015 semester will resume on August 24, 2015 and will run through August 28, 2015. Students who are enrolled for the Summer 2015 semester will be receiving additional information during the next few days. Students are encouraged to contact their instructors in the meantime to receive additional details about their classes.

Fall 2015

The first day of the College’s Fall 2015 semester has been moved to Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 and the semester will run through December 24, 2015. More information will be made available regarding the Fall 2015 semester in the next few days. Because the College will be modifying the semester timeframe from 16 to 13 weeks, it is necessary to make corresponding changes in classroom contact hours. As such, student who have already registered for the Fall 2015 semester will find their classes may be extended on each day to meet the instructional contact hour requirement. These time periods will be shared with students as soon as they are finalized. Please note the following updated dates for Fall 2015 semester.

August 31, 2015 (*Admission Closed for International Students)

Placement Testing:

Sept. 7 @ 9am – English Placement Test (60 students max)

Sept. 7 @ 1pm – English Placement Test (60 students max)

Sept. 8 @ 9am – English Placement Test (60 students max)

Sept. 8 @ 1pm – English Placement Test (60 students max)

Sept. 9 @ 9am – Math Placement Test (60 students max)

Sept. 9 @ 1pm – Math Placement Test (60 students max)

Sept. 10 @ 9am – Math Placement Test (60 students max)

Sept. 10 @ 1pm – Math Placement Test (60 students max)

Sept. 14 @ 1pm – English Placement Test (International Students)

Sept. 15 @ 9am – Math Placement Test (International Students)


Sept. 11 @ 9am – New & Returning Student Orientation

Sept. 12 @ 9am – New & Returning Student Orientation

Sept. 14 @ 9am – International Student Orientation


Sept. 7-11- Registration for Ongoing Students (By last name)

Sept. 14-25 – Registration for New, Readmitted, and Ongoing Students

Sept. 7 – Oct. 2 – Add/Drop Period; Oct. 2 is last day for 100% refund, no refund after Oct. 2.

First Day of Classes: September 28, 2015

Last Day of Classes: December 19, 2015

Finals Week: December 21-24, 2015

Winter Break: December 25, 2015 - January 1, 2016
