Discounted Rates Offered for Zumba Class at NMC (May 16, 2012)

UPDATED: May 18, 2012

The Northern Marianas College through the Community Development Institute (CDI) is offering discounted rates for individuals who wish to take a short-term Zumba course that begins on Monday, May 21, 2012 with a "preview class" this Friday, May 18, 2012 at 5:00 pm at the NMC Gymnasium. This first trial class is free.

The fee for the Zumba course has been reduced to $45 per individual if participants refer one individual to register for the course, which equates to $5 per class session. This discount will also be given to the individuals referred. However, the course fee is $90 for those who do not refer others to take the course.

Zumba is a popular fitness program inspired by Latin dance. It is marketed as “an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party” (www.zumba.com). Zumba consists of various aerobic exercises that also tone and sculpt the body.

These courses are offered as part of the College’s mission to provide customized, continuing educational, professional development instruction, as well as personal enrichment opportunities in response to community needs.

The Zumba course will begin on Monday, May 21, 2012, and will continue every Monday and Friday until the last day on June 18, 2012. The schedule is 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the NMC Gymnasium.

It is recommended that all interested individuals register before the start of the first day of class. Full payment is required for admission to a class.

To register, or for information about these courses, visit the CDI Office in Building P on the NMC Campus in As Terlaje or call 234-5498 ext. 1005/1010/1019 or e-mail Orrin Pharmin at [email protected].
