Northern Marianas College Increases Online Offerings (January 31, 2012)

The Northern Marianas College has announced that it now has a program that makes it more convenient to take high-quality, noncredit online courses no matter where students are located. Through a partnership with ed2go, the College offers hundreds of courses on many topics including accounting and finance, business, computer applications, health care and medical, language and arts, law and legal, personal development, teaching and education, technology, and writing.

“We are extremely pleased to be partnering with ed2go in expanding the options for students who are seeking more training opportunities to advance their careers,” said NMC President. Dr. Sharon Y. Hart.

The partnership with ed2go also allows students to take affordable Online Career Training Programs to prepare them to launch new careers or advance in existing ones.

Through well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction, and interaction with fellow students, students will gain valuable knowledge at their convenience. They will also have the flexibility to study at their own pace combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. The courses can be accessed 24/7 from anywhere with an Internet connection.

New sessions of each six-week online course start monthly, with two lessons released weekly (for a total of 12). Each high-quality course includes comprehensive lessons, quizzes, assignments, and a discussion area. Dedicated instructors facilitate every course; pacing learners, answering questions, giving feedback, and facilitating discussions.

The Online Career Training Programs are available to start anytime and range from three to six months, with many offering an extension period if necessary. Many programs include an industry certification exam, and internship and externship opportunities are available for select programs. They are entirely Web-based, but expert instructors provide office hours and quick responses to any student questions.
