Community Brief: NMC Charter Day auditions dates set, vendors invited (May 2, 2011)

The Northern Marianas College 2011 Charter Day Committee will be holding auditions for the celebration’s remaining competitions: the Dance Crew Competition Challenge, and the Battle of the Bands.

All auditions are being held in the Student Center located in Building J.

Battle of the Bands
Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 5pm

Dance Crew Competition
Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 5pm.

For the Battle of the Bands auditions, bands are required to bring their own equipment.

Those interested in competing can pick up an application form from the NMC Student Center in Building J at the College’s As Terlaje campus or log on to and download an application. There is no application fee for any of the competitions.

Agencies, businesses, clubs and other civic organizations are invited to participate by purchasing booth space for the following categories: food/drink, specialty drinks (e.g. coffee coolers or pearl shakes), game booths, retail(arts, and crafts, toys etc.), and information.

The deadline to submit applications for booth spaces is on Thursday May 5, 2011. There will be prizes for the booths that win the best décor and best dish competitions.

The booth fee is $150. $50 of the fee will be refunded upon clean up of the booth space post-event. Club booths are $50 and also include a $25 refund upon booth space clean up.

The Northern Marianas College 30th Annual Charter Day will be held on Friday May 6, 2011 at the As Terlaje campus from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.
