NMC to hold auditions for Charter Day competitions (April 27, 2011)

The Northern Marianas College 2011 Charter Day Committee will be holding auditions for the celebration’s three main competitions: the Marianas Idol, the Dance Crew Competition Challenge, and the Battle of the Bands.

All auditions are being held in the Student Center located in Building J. Marianas Idol auditions will be held on Monday, May 2 at 5pm, Battle of the Bands Tuesday, May 3 at 5pm, and Dance Crew Competition Wednesday, May 4 at 5pm.

For the Battle of the Bands auditions, bands are required to bring their own equipment.

The competitions will be judged on categories that include stage presentation, entertainment value, and overall performance. Six finalists will be selected for Marianas Idol, three crews for the Dance Crew Competition Challenge and three bands for the Battle of the Bands.

The Charter Day Committee invites everyone in the community interested in competing to pick up an application form from the NMC Student Center in Building J at the College’s As Terlaje campus or log on to www.nmcnet.edu and download an application. There is no application fee for any of the competitions.

In addition to the exciting entertainment, there will also be several vendors featuring island delicacies, drink concessions, and much more.
